Telltale’s ‘Game of Thrones’ Has Officially Released + Review

Granted, the game has been out for at least a week now but I really wanted to play the game before delving into anything further about it. With that being said, if you haven’t already, check out the official launch trailer below:

A day after this trailer was released, the game was also released. The first episode is $5 or you can buy the entire ‘season pass’ for about $30. I went ahead and bought the season pass for my computer for about $25 through the official Telltale website. The season pass really just means that you have went ahead and bought all six episodes so when the new episode comes out, you can go ahead and download it. Quite simple.

Now, let’s get into it, shall we? From the trailer we caught more glimpses of some of our familiar characters from the show in all of their glory. But, we have also been inclined to meet some of our new characters that we will grow attached to as the story progresses. I’m not kidding either, after one episode, I’m immensely attached to a few of the characters.

This game really does have it all, in my opinion. Every decision you make immensely impacts how other characters respond to you and the story as a whole. Granted, from watching the show, we all may think it would be easy to full answer questions and invoke punishment on people who wrong us but, believe me, it’s a lot more difficult than it seems. In the first episode, you wonder if you punished people the right way and you worry about whether or not your answers will get you kicked out of King’s Landing if you don’t please Cersei. It really is a pulse-pounding game and it leaves you wanting more.

Telltale says the game can be completed in about 2 hours, tops. So, relatively, it is not a long game. I would say this is about right. I was rather upset when it ended because not only did I want to play more but it left on a cliffhanger ending…typical Game of Thrones style, if you ask me.

Telltale also says that each episode should be available every 4-6 weeks so I have a while before the next episode but this gives you, if you haven’t already played, more than enough time to get yourself the game and play. It really is worth it!

Telltale’s ‘Game of Thrones: Episode 1-Iron from Ice’ is simple, easy to play, and has a great story that has so much potential! So, get yourselves the game! I promise, you will NOT regret it! 🙂
