Cast Signs for Seventh Season

As we heard back in April, Game of Thrones has already been renewed for a sixth season but as of recently, HBO is now planning to renew for a seventh season and this means that major cast members have already signed on. Also, HBO has increased pay raises for some of the major cast members which makes them the highest paid actors on television right now. However, with this news, which actors signed for a seventh season and what does that mean for their characters?

However, it still has not been given the green light by HBO yet but it seems they are already taking steps to ensure that a seventh season happens.

As we know, the cast is very diverse and the show employs what they call a “tiered system” to compensate the stars.
According to Hollywood Reporter:

The “A” tier – which includes actors Kit Harrington (Jon Snow), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) – is paid at the highest level.
The lower-salaried “B” tier – which is said to include co-stars Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Maise Williams (Arya Stark) and others – is said to be scoring raises as well in exchange for season seven options.

It really comes as no surprise that negotiations for cast members salary have come into play considering on how popular this show is. The season four finale by itself drew in 7.1 million total viewers and as a whole, the show draws 18.6 million viewers across multiple platforms and views.

However, even if they do sign for a season seven, that doesn’t necessarily keep their characters safe. George R.R. Martin is notorious for killing off major characters and he still has two more books to write. As of now, it seems a season seven will come into play for us fans but that doesn’t mean our favorite characters will make it to the series finale.

What do you guys think? What characters do you think will be killed off before the final season or book? I personally think Tyrion is going to get the ax before it’s all over. He’s just too good of a character and even though Martin has said Tyrion is his favorite character to write, he also said that no character is safe. However, I have this sick image that Martin just spins a wheel with characters names on it and whichever name the wheel stops on, that’s who he kills. I don’t know….sounds a bit odd but who knows! Haha!
