Charles Dance Returns to the Small Screen for Syfy Miniseries

Charles Dance returns to the small screen to appear in Syfy’s new mini-series ‘Childhood’s End’. We last saw Dance portraying Tywin Lannister who was killed in last season’s finale episode.

According to IGN:

The series, based on Arthur C. Clarke’s classic novel, “follows the peaceful invasion of Earth by the mysterious overlords.” Karellen (Dance) is the Overlords’ ambassador, and first makes contact with human Ricky Stormgren. Karellen quickly wins over the human population, but when he refuses to show his physical appearance and only speaks through Ricky, Earth’s people begin to question Karellen’s motives.

Wow. Seems intense. Almost like a mix between ‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers’ and ‘War of the Worlds’. I could probably watch this. Although, with it appearing on Syfy, I have my hesitations about graphics.

‘Childhood’s End’ is set to be a six-hour mini-series that is to be directed by Nick Hurran who has worked on Sherlock and Doctor Who.

So, who is preparing to watch it when it airs? A release date is still unknown but it sounds interesting enough.

Charles Dance says he treated Peter Dinklage horribly

Okay, so I got your attention, didn’t I? In a recent interview with Charles Dance who portrayed Twin Lannister in the most exquisite way explained that he treated Peter Dinklage poorly…here’s how….

Tywin was a great character to play because although the thing is set in this mythical land, it’s nevertheless based on a medieval, feudal society where you what you had to do to maintain your position in that society — and that’s what Tywin Lannister did. But I did spend a lot of time apologizing to little Peter Dinklage, who I adore, because I treated him like s— all the time. Some of the things I said to him were horrendous. I was always laughing at how horrendously he behaved.

Okay, so this wasn’t in the way you thought but it still is interesting how often he had to apologize because of the things he said. Ex: ‘you’re no son of mine’. Ouch! I know Jack Gleeson who portrayed Joffrey Baratheon was constantly apologizing to Sophie Turner who portrays Sansa Stark for all the horrendous things he had to say and do to her character. From what Sophie says, he always asked how she was doing after a take and gave her a hug. See, not all bad. Hahaha

Well, you can read the full article here. The interview was for Dance’s new movie ‘Dracula Untold’ which looks phenomenal and he talks mainly about that but the interviewer had to ask about Game of Thrones. I really hope you enjoyed…it is a quite humorous and awesome article. Go on, give it a read! 🙂

‘You Haven’t Seen the Last of Tywin Lannister.’ Wait…What?

DISCLAIMER: THERE WILL BE SPOILERS IN THIS POST AND SPOILERS IN THE ARTICLE POSTED. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!

It really is hard to forget the epic season 4 finale no matter how hard you try. So much went down but, for me, the most shocking was when Tyrion killed his father, Tywin, in the most interesting setting we could possibly get. However, in a recent interview with Charles Dance who has graced the show playing the late Tywin Lannister, he said he was not completely missing out on season 5. Now, I could have swore I saw him die at the end of last season but lets just keep all options open. Weirder things have happened.

During the interview with MTV UK, Charles Dance had this to say:

I’m not completely missing out on the next season. More than that, I’m not going to say. You have’t seen the last of Tywin Lannister, is all I’ll say.

Well, I’ll give him credit for not giving too much away but this opens up a plethora of theories and reasons as to why he would appear next season. The article does further give theories that are pulled from the book A Feast For Crows so read at your own risk. I’m not responsible if you spoil yourself. 😛 However, I did read the full article and it makes a lot of sense, that’s all I’m saying.

[MTV News] – – There is also a snippet of the interview Charles Dance had that further addresses the rumor. Enjoy!
