Inside Daznak’s Pit

Filming continues in Osuna, Spain where the town’s bullring seems to be a major set for the upcoming season. Speculations have further concurred that the bullring could be the set for the infamous Daznak’s Pit. But, also surfacing from that area are a few photos of our lovely cast and, according to Watchers on the Wall, D&D are diverging from the books once again.

Now, I am not entirely sure what is going on in these photos as far as story line goes BUT there are a few characters that are sitting together that have not crossed paths until now.

Watchers on the Wall speculates:

The photos feature Daenerys, Hizdahr zo Loraq, Missandei, Daario Naharis, and Tyrion Lannister looking on as Jorah Mormont steps into the pit to take on several fighters.

I think we all pretty much gathered who everyone was but if you didn’t, now you know. But, this is where it gets interesting. Ready?

Watchers on the Wall further says:

In a surprising twist, Tyrion stands by Hizdahr in similar colors. Daenerys sits on Hizdahr’s other side, dressed in white. Can we take the new white gown as a hint that we’re seeing the celebration of Daenerys and Hizdahr’s marriage?

Hold on…hold on…back up. Marriage? When did it become clear she was getting married again? I thought after the Khal, there would be no one else. However, she did share her bed with Daario in season 4 but this Hizdahr guy seems to have come out of left field and now everyone is talking marriage? I mean, it is curious because Daenery’s signature color is blue and now she is wearing white? Tis very strange if you ask me. However, my biggest question is why is Jorah in the same area as Dany? I thought she banished him at the end of season 4. Did they cross paths again? Where is Ser Barristan? All of these questions and no answers! How much is everyone looking forward to season 5 now? I’m super excited! I cannot wait to find out what’s going on and Tyrion and Daenerys TOGETHER!? Oh my, this season will be epic!

The Wall is Coming Back Together in N. Ireland & Peter Dinklage spotted in Spain

As exciting as it is to know that filming has been happening in Croatia and Spain, filming is still taking place in Northern Ireland. The Wall is officially coming back together and it is taking shape at Magheramorne Quarry in County Antrim.

In other news, Peter Dinklage has finally been spotted in Spain. He was apparently spotted at a hotel in Osuna where Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) and Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei) have been spotted. Coincidence? Guess we will find out! This bit of news was also taken from the previous source. Gotta cite those sources!

WATCH: Jason Momoa’s Intense GoT Audition

This video has been on youtube since 2012 but apparently, it has suddenly resurfaced for some unknown reason. The video is Jason Momoa, who we all know and love as the awesome Khal Drogo, auditioning for his role. I don’t want to spoil anything….you just have to watch it

Interesting, huh? I was speechless after I watched it the first time. Apparently and according to TIME.com, he is performing the haka, which is a traditional dance associated with New Zealand’s Maori people.

Now, this tradition has nothing to do with GoT but with that much intensity, I can totally see why he was cast to play Khal Drogo. That was fantastic! If you are wondering what the actor has been up to since GoT, he has recently been  cast as Aquaman and is said to appear in a number of DC Comics’ upcoming films. Yay for him!

New Casting Information

Actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (yeah, that’s a mouthful) has joined the cast of Game of Thrones and will be playing the character ‘Malko’. However, and here’s the kicker, this character does not exist in the books. DUN DUN DUN!

According to Mashable:

While Malko might not be a familiar name to fans who’ve read the series, it’s somewhat similar to the name ‘Moqorro’, a book character who is a priest of the Lord of Light, R’hllor. That character is described as a large man with white hair, covered in red fire tattoos. 

Now I have no idea if that is the character he is supposed to be but we do know that Game of Thrones is not shy to changing character names for whatever reason they do it for.

If the actor does not sound familiar, he played Mr. Eko is Lost, Simon Adebisi on Oz and Algrim in Thor: The Dark World. However, he will not be an entirely new face to the whole cast because he did play alongside Kit Harrington (Jon Snow) in Pompeii. I have actually seen that film…I don’t feel so lost now haha

D&D confirm flashbacks for S5

This week, at an event at Teatro Central de Sevilla, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss spoke about a number of topics that have to deal with the show. One in particular was on flashbacks which was originally said to never be used on the show.

WiCNet further explains that this new information could also be linked to the leaked information regarding casting the seer Maggy the Frog and a young Cersei Lannister.

However, there are other speculations as to why they would be using flashbacks for the upcoming season. You can check those out HERE

In other news, Cordoba is a location being used for filming and it will represent the free city of Volantis according to D&D. They also confirmed that true spoilers from Winds of Winter may appear in season 5 and to put fans at ease, they expressed that GRRM has never asked them to change the material but he is generally happy with the changes they make. He apparently especially liked the conversation between Bronn and the Hound is S2E9 ‘Blackwater’, an episode in which he wrote.

Jaime Lannister goes full Dornishman for Season 5

Yep, this is our lovely Jaime Lannister who has spent the entire series either in a Kingsguard uniform or completely covered in mud so this is a new setup for everyone. There are still no clues as to why he is dressing as a Dornishman so it could be just to fit in because I’m sure every male in Dorne dresses as such or he has completely switched sides which would be interesting.

Also, in the article, we see more photos of Ellaria Sand and she looks FANTASTIC! So beautiful! We also have received the first photos of Alexander Siddig who will be playing Prince Dorian who is Oberyn’s older brother. I don’t know about you guys but I cannot wait to find out what he has to say about his brother’s death.

Dornish Characters have been Spotted!

Even though the Seville in Spain is still shut down for filming, fans touring the area have still managed to get pictures of the current and new cast members filming in that location. I’m not talking about blurry, far away photos either, I’m talking close, high quality photos and they are very nice.

In this article, we see photos of Ellaria Sand who has apparently returned to Dorne after her husbands death as well as photos of Myrcella Baratheon who no one has seen since season 2 and then there is her fiance, Prince Trystane who we also see.

Stand Alone HBO Service to be Offered in 2015

Now I don’t know about any of you guys but I don’t have HBO so I have to livestream or watch the episode when someone puts it online. It’s totally not good quality but I’ll do anything to watch GoT haha

But, the good news is, HBO is planning on offering a stand alone service in 2015.

According to WiCNet, Richard Plepler who is the CEO and chairman of Time Warner Inc. had this to say:

It is time to remove all barriers to those who want HBO. So, in 2015, we will launch a stand-alone, over-the-top, HBO service in the United States. We will work with our current partners. And, we will explore models with new partners. All in, there are 80 million homes that do not have HBO and we will use all means at our disposal to go after them.

My household is one of the 80 million that doesn’t have HBO. I don’t feel so left out now. I am really super excited about this. Now, I am not sure on specifics as to what their entire plan is. I am assuming that people who already have HBO and HBOGo will not lose their service, instead, the company will jus branch out with a stand-alone service to others. That’s at least what it sounds like to me.

But, what do you guys think? Are you excited or do you already have HBO? I think this is a great idea…I’m hoping the price is affordable compared to how much it is to add HBO and whatnot to an already existing cable plan. -Fingers crossed-

What’s Coming for Margaery Tyrell is S5?

Filming is still going on for the upcoming season and from what we have heard, the women on the show have had some interesting scenes especially Ms. Lena Headey who just wrapped up her ‘walk of shame’ a week or so ago. However, now Natalie Dormer who portrays the mischievous Margaery Tyrell has her own interesting scenes to film.

As we all remember from S4, she had married the King but plans did not go accordingly and their marriage was never consummated…poor her. However, she has officially moved on to the nicer and much younger brother who is actually only 12 in the series (show not books).

Natalie Dormer spoke with E! Online and said:

Margaery is just trying to play the next, you know, round of cards with the ones she’s been dealt, so it’s a particularly awkward situation for her, and young Tommen as well, so she’s just trying to befriend the kid

This is very intriguing because I completely understand how this could be awkward and not just for the characters. Natalie Dormer is actually thirty-two years old where her young counterpart, Dean-Charles Chapman, is only seventeen. That is quite the age difference for the actors but if I hadn’t had looked that up, I would have never guessed Dormer was that age…she looks much younger. Wonder what her secret is. As far as that goes, in the article, Dormer does specify that it is awkward at times to get direction on how to go about filming these scenes because Chapman is much younger.

How do you think Margaery and Tommen will plan out? I’ve heard some spoilers as to what happens with them but I won’t ruin it in case those spoilers were wrong or you haven’t read the books. I don’t know, though, I wish Margaery would leave poor Tommen alone…he is much too young and kind BUT every King needs a Queen hahaha….guess we will all see in season 5.

GoT Needs to be Fixed?

I’ve heard complaints about the show before whether it be because a character didn’t appear like they should have or Dave and Dan changed a scene just a bit too much for a fan’s liking. However, this is the first time that I have seen someone openly say that the show is broken and needs fixing.

According to Apolon who wrote this article for iDigitalTimes:

“Game of Thrones” season 5 is going to have some problems. The story of the political fantasy series is larger than it’s ever been, and it keeps getting larger, and the producers are stuck trying to cram more and more material into the same amount of time. Indeed, the show is at some risk of getting bad this season, now that it has outpaced the books and ventured off on its own. But there was, and still is, a simple solution to many of the show’s problems: give each season 12 episodes instead of 10.

I won’t provide any other detail from the article just because there are spoilers so I’ll let you read those on your own. But, referring back to this excerpt, I agree and disagree. I agree that the seasons should have more than 10 episodes but most HBO shows only have 10 episodes, some have less but with GoT being this massive, maybe it is time to step it up and add another episode or two to the lineup, could help space it out a bit. However, I disagree that the show could get ‘bad’. I mean this with this most optimism I can manage but the show has been fantastic so far and a lot of people are worried that the show venturing off to Winds of Winter when that book hasn’t been released yet could cause problems. I also disagree with that, George R.R. Martin told Dave and Dan exactly how the books will play out and they are they only two that know. George seems to have major faith in these guys and if he does, I do. I’ve liked the changes they’ve made to the show and I’m excited to see how they do season 5.

What everyone should do is take a breather and see how season 5 pans out. If it sucks, you can quote me on how much of an idiot I am 😛 but until then, calm down. But, believe me, I get what everyone is complaining about…I do. I know what it’s like to read a book and then see it played out and think ‘what the hell?’ The books were too massive for a movie series so they turned it into an HBO show and now it’s still too massive. I’m hoping Dave and Dan can work out the kinks over time but until then, I’m just going to wait patiently for season 5 🙂

Oh, and here is the official article, let me know your opinions. I am really curious if anyone disagrees and why…as someone who hasn’t read the books, it would be nice to hear from someone who has to see if what they think differs from mine.
